CAN I TAKE THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE UK?
These vehicles are for UK mainland use only. If you need to use the vehicle outside of the UK prior authorisation will be needed and additional charges/requirements may apply. Please contact us for further details.
DO I NEED AN OPERATOR’S LICENCE TO DRIVE A TRUCK?
All truck rentals for business use (in excess of 3.5t) must have a valid operator’s licence (sometimes also referred to as an ‘O Licence’).
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE VEHICLE BREAKS DOWN?
In the unlikely event of your vehicle breaking down, please note all our vehicles come with full nationwide breakdown coverage. Details of this will be included with the documents given to you at the time of hire; it is important that you keep these with you.
IS THE VEHICLE INSURED/HOW MUCH IS THE INSURANCE?
The vehicle is not insured for customer use. Customers are required to insure any hire vehicle on their own policy before collection.
IS THE WINDSCREEN COVERED?
Windscreen damage is not covered and must be repaired by the hirer at their own cost.
DO YOU DELIVER VEHICLES TO MY REQUESTED LOCATION?
Yes. We can supply to a desired point of delivery at a charge to the customer or alternatively the customer will collect from the agreed Axis location.
WHAT DO I DO WHEN I RETURN THE VEHICLE?
Customers are required to return the vehicle fully fuelled to the original point of collection, unless Axis have agreed an alternative delivery point in advance. The vehicle/s will be checked by a member of our compliance team for damage as part of our de-hire process. Any damage to the vehicle that has occurred whilst on hire will be chargeable to the customer.
WHAT HAPPENS WITH FUEL?
Please ensure you are aware of the type of fuel required for the specific vehicle. We recommend that vehicles are returned with fuel and AdBlu to the levels the vehicles leave our premises. Any fuel or AdBlu taken on return will be charged for.
DO HIRE VEHICLES NEED TO BE REFUELLED BEFORE COLLECTION/RETURN?
Yes. We encourage our customers to re-fuel our rental vehicles to cover the fuel used before collection or return. If required, we can charge for the fuel used instead or deduct the amount from your deposit.
WHAT IF I AM LATE RETURNING THE VEHICLE OR I WISH TO EXTEND THE HIRE?
Please contact us and let us know as soon as possible. We can then advise you of any additional charges and, if required, can arrange payment. Additional rental charges are payable before the expiration of the current rental period. Payments are taken by direct debit.
